At Attivo, we’re committed to giving back to the community locally and on a global scale. And while the holiday season inspires many of us with a charitable spirit, we want you to know about the organizations and missions we support year-round. As a member of our business community, your direct purchases from Attivo helps us support these causes!

Whether it’s giving a wheelchair to those that can’t afford them or a backpack full of school supplies to a child in need, your commitment to us has a direct and meaningful impact. At Attivo, it’s important for us to help you create positive change at your company and in our community.

What Causes Does Attivo Support?

American Wheelchair Mission: Healing the World through Wheelchairs

It is estimated that worldwide, 100 million people are in need of wheelchairs but can’t afford to purchase one. The wheelchairs provided by the American Wheelchair Mission typically retail in medical supply stores for $500 and would be impossible for many to even dream of having access to. By providing wheelchairs to the physically disabled, the American Wheelchair Mission not only gives the gift of mobility but lifts the burden from the entire family./

By partnering up with the American Wheelchair Mission through the Knights of Columbus, Attivo is providing one wheelchair for every five new users of ERP software purchased through our firm. This program could potentially impact hundreds of physically disabled individuals around the world.

Reo Backpack Company: Helping Students Get Off on the Right Foot

According to a 2011 study, there are approximately 50,000 homeless individuals living in the greater Los Angeles Area. Of this number, 20% are families with school-aged children. Many of these students go to school and want to learn but lack the tools and materials that are necessary to set them up for success; in fact, it’s estimated that teachers spend nearly $900 of their own money each year on school supplies for their students.

At Attivo, we feel that families, students, and teachers deserve more.

The Reo Backpack Company has made it their mission to provide backpacks and school supplies to local homeless children, providing them essential tools to achieve their potential. Through our partnership with the Reo Backpack Company, for every single new user of any software package that we offer, we donate a backpack full of school supplies to a needy child.

See How Our Team Members Care.

Attivo’s employees are also dedicated to caring not only for your business but the world around them. Here are just a few personal stories shared by some of our valued team members who embody the best of the holiday spirit, actively cultivating a better tomorrow with their kindness, generosity, and community leadership.

Random Acts of Kindness:

“104.9 the River provided “Pay it forward” cards the size of a credit card to be used for a random act of kindness. The recipient of your act of kindness was then to use the card to pay forward another act of kindness. I enjoyed using these cards in a few ways, paying for the coffee of the person behind me in the drive-thru lane, a meal for an older couple in a restaurant, etc. I actively looked for someone who appeared to either need a pick-me-up, or in the case of a person at a grocery store, was a little short to pay for the groceries, and had a few kids in tow. I loved doing it because I could do it anonymously, and provide them with the card with the uplifting message and an opportunity to keep the kindness going.”  https://riverradio.com/

Angel Tree:

“When my son was about 8 years old, we adopted a tradition of him selecting one or two angels from an Angel Tree, where you give gifts to a child in need. We shop together and then deliver the package to the Angel Tree drop-off. I continue this tradition myself now to provide needy children holiday happiness.”

Boy Scouts of America: Cultivating Young Leaders

“Leadership skills and training is one of my many passions.  It all started when I joined the Army as a Private and finally retired as a Major.  With all of the military leadership training I had received– and the hands-on experience, including the Gulf War– I learned that good leadership can make or break an organization. Many feel that leadership is a trait that you need to be born with, but that isn’t true; leadership is something that can be learned and fine-tuned with experience.  Unfortunately, I didn’t feel like the current public-school system was making any progress in this area so 1998, my first son join the Cub Scouting program.”

“My son loved it, and so did I. It felt like the missing link that I was searching for, so I quickly became the Cub Scout Master.  My second son soon joined the program, and a few years later I found myself transitioning from Cub Master to Scout Master and in charge of the Factoryville Boy Scout Troop #175. Boy Scouts of America is a great program that teaches many things, but one of the things I focus in on is leadership training and getting as many boys to Eagle Rank as possible.”

“Leadership and character are extremely important traits, and we need to ensure our future generations have these skills. Over the years, I’ve lost count how many scouts have earned The Eagle Rank. Every now and again, I will have a past scout reach out to me, thanking me for what I have done for him; this is why I commit so much time to this program. As for my own kids, two are Eagle Scouts, and the third is a Life Scout on his way to becoming Eagle.”

“My goal as part of the Boy Scout program is to continue to teach these leadership skills and support the Boy Scout Program to the best of my ability for years to come.  Part of my support is through fundraising for the local troop. For several years, we have raised roughly 2-3 thousand dollars each year. This past year with COVID was extremely difficult and our fund-raising activity suffered to the point that we were only able to take local donations.  If anyone is interested in donating to the Factoryville Boy Scout Troop #175 please let me know.  My email is [email protected].  Thank you!”
